Welcome in Herbland - Frost Lotus and other madness

After some (!!) weeks of hyatus due to my modem departure, I started again with WOW, yay!
For the karma balance, as I got my favourite addiction back, Destiny in the person of my medic decided I've to loose another, so I'm trying to give up drinking Cola. Ha HA HA. After 12 years it's gonna be pure FUN.

Anyway, back on topic!

Now that ICC is out and everyone and their mothers are back to the magical word of riding, the herb situation in Ah is changed drastically, mainly due to the raising demand of Frost Lotus.
Yeah, that's true, one herb to screw them all.
Let's think about that, if  Lotus reach 60/70g, not many alchemist are gonna buy them, as the margin of procs is just too swallow to rely on, so... domino chain!

The stacks Lichbloom and Icethorn fall to 9g *frush hands*.

I managed to stock up 140 flasks of each type at the good " I have a farmer" times, so I'm not worrying much atm, but I wonder what will happen when me and all my other collegues will run out of stocks.. either the Frost Lots price will fell in those days of low buying or other markets have to be found.

In the meantime, I have my guildback tab full of Lich and Ice, 2 tabs each.
*droll*

Farmer! Farmer! Where are thou?

In bags: 5683g
Currently working on: Glyphs, Flasks, Eternal Buckles
Stockpiling: Icethorn, Lichbloom, Adder's, Eternal Earth/Water/Shadow
In need of : Frost Lotus
2nd farmer: Not achived

The bad news is that my farmer just vanished, and I'm worried.
Not for the herbs, but actually because it's since the earthquake that I haven't heard of him.
Hope the guy's fine and just got some days off.
In the meantime, my major supplier of herbs is AH again; Doh!
I'm currently buying all the Icethorn and Lichbloom I can find at a decent price, and those will be flasked, even if at the moment getting the Lotus will get a bit troublesome as it goes for 40g and higher, while my main income from ink will be Adder's.
I was aiming to get a large amount of flasks ready for the Icecrown's patch and playing accordly, but the supply iatus which occurred left me with 4 Frost Wyrm and 16 Endless Rage, while the others have all sold out ( at 35g each ** giggle**).

I'm considering finding a second farmer but I' m also worried I couldn't mantain both of them,  not with daily COd of 3k at least. Mah..

Instead, the new selling strategy with Glyphs is working well, very time I check my mail I found an average of 168g on both the glyph's sellers toons.

I was a bit worried about rising the stockpiled amount from 10 to 20/each, but eventually got me out the milling /crafting Eating-Time-Terror-Tunnel; I mill when I want, send my mule the inks and get those back before going out to work, for some afk crafting till server dc.

Wish I had more Lotus

In bags: 3725g
Top amount of the week: 7634g, of pure income
Currently working on: Glyphs, Flasks, Eternal Buckles
Stockpiling: Saronite (to level Bs), Eternal Earth, Wotkl Green Gems.

For RL reasons I've not been very active in playing Ah in those few days and as result, my stockpiled glyphs are getting  fewer and fewer not to mention is a full 4 tab Gbank of Icethorn and Adder's waitig to be milled.
Decisions have been made, so I'm gonna work with higher numbers and cancell less.
To cope with the fact that atm I'm too tired to push hard the AH( I'm getting zzzzzz like around 11pm), I've decided to get again in the pre-raid flasks market, for some easy time.

Well, the result was shocking, I made nearly 8k in two days.
I was like *Gaaaaahhhh??!*
Now I'm coverying the supply of all the flasks except the Endless Rage one, for which, no Lotus was left, with prices that vary from 25g to 29g, with a profit of 25-30%, filling Ah and working on COD orders.
I will place the leftover 75 tonight and roll in the money in Scrooge McDuck's style.

We (He) like(s) each other (my golds)

In bags: 2700g
Working on: Inscription, Flasks, BS, Enchanting
Buying: Herbs, Lotus, Gems, Eternals
Donated to Gbank: Fish, Meat, 10 Frost Wyrm

The patch hitted and I'm not so broken anymore,  the stocks I've prepared finally gave me some fresh air and most important, saved my butt as well.
Except for some flasks session, which poor procs rate, 10 extra out of 76, I burned out most of my Glyphs and Dusts and haven't got the time to fill the bags again, as I was more concerned in assisting my prescious lil dog who got a surgery on Wed then to go for a milling/DE trip.

Two items I sold like candy yesterday, mostly by COD, were Eternal Life and Moonshroud, which I stockpiled in advance, sniffing the massive arrival of badges' Crusader Orb in ah.
I also crafted some cards for a friend, for which I had to purchase the Eternal life in Ah, as I runned off myself, I found a cheep stack in ah for 17g each, and with my own big surprise, an hour later, I got a guildy saying me "tank you for the donation" on Ventrilo. Her's Eternals!

I haven't tried the Runescroll of Stamina market as Mr.HS suggested me yesterday, as for  lack of time as I didn't tink this could have a such a big success as it had, partially also because I'm a priest in my RL wow life!

The big news is that I officially have a farmer, who's selling me COD all his major herbs at 0.70s each, 14g/stack, who will also provide me Lotus for 30g and some Eternals as well, for which we still have to discuss the price.
He's not a chinese, but I've decided - making him smile - to not be racist or too picky;
he's a farmer and we (he) like(s) each other ( my golds)!

Pie anyone?

In bags: 900g

In items: 8k
Currently working on: Inscription, Jewelcrafting
WTB: Frost Lotus

In this weekend I burned a lot of money buying herbs,
6k of Icethorn to be precise and some wotkl gems.
I got so many of them that I wrote Mr.HS to hurry up and get some, wait.. whoot?

I´m not crazy or high, and already got my weekly dose of glue sniffing while repairing books here at work, so let´s see the reasons behind this:

- the 2 of us share the same AH, that we like it or not, that´s it
- we are in the same markets
- we ( I assume a plural) don´t like competitors
- I bought the cheapest of them before telling him ( **giggle**)

So why don´t literary cut off the rest of them?
If I get pie, he gets pie, we are happy and the other aren´t cause we got it all for us!
Or eventually it will reduce the numbers of them, as the price they pay for the raw product wouldn´t be worth the time of milling, check AH, crafting and posting.

Did it work?
I´m happy to give a positive answer!

- I was able to donate some to my GBank
- Possibly got a farmer
- A whole tab filled half raw herb, half inks on my mule Gbank,
pigments waiting the expiring time to rejoin me
- And last but not least...
Saturday I sold both in AH as by COD, tons of Snowfall Ink for 24g each, which proved my point!

You think I got a nice week?

You´re probably right!

Glyph making and the fine art of undercutting

How many Scribes can a faction feed?

The Highlander's attitude toward sellers.

In my AH there are several people trying their luck , usually vanishing in a couple of day, soothed by the "I sir, at least got a pro shoulder's enchant" feeling also:

On a cancel/repost session is interesting to check which names pops up more often;
this will help you to understand who's on the other side of the screen, trying to fish from your lake!

So in the end, there is just the 7 of us, like the cutie Cindarella's dwarves, earning a piece of market every day and make our alt mules carry the endless pocket weight.

For what I could see, those are more or less the profiles of all I will call from now on "My Beloved Undercutters" ;

 - The Batchers, Auctioneer's dependant, they somethimes reset the market, the sweetest thing ever if I'm low on those 2 ink Glyphs;

- The cherry picking guys, they check the prices, craft, list and goes, never heard of them for couple of days; at their place I would at least repost twice a day!

- The levelling tards, ok, neeext

- Me and Mr. Happy Scribe 's fellow mules, QA's lovers, carpet bombing

And special mention for Gevlon 's Fanboy, for naming his mule after Mr. Goblin site, but proved ( in my opinion) of not beeing so smart as his idol, for our luck, I may say!

What a surprise! Seller Unveiled!

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

QuickPost

Even If I gave up writing for about 3 months, I'm an attentive wow related blog reader,
this girl does her homework!

Yesterday something very funny happened to me:
I came across the blog of the glyph pusher of my server, which is eventually the guy
I'm undercutting from about the last 2 month in various markets.

"What a surprise" isn't actually what I though in the first instance, I was more like
"Muhahaha, wafflemeow, I GOT YAAA",
and started reading, and tracking.

He's a nice guy, his writing style is easy to read and enterteining, also it give another point of view of the market we share, which is indeed very interesting.

I didn't recognize him by his alts name, which btw were already in my friend list with a nice
1/5 progression, but for an AH screenshot he posted; saw know names on that pic, made me jump on my chair, really!

This made me giggling all the day long, till I decide it would be polite let him know I found him,
I don’t like spying people.

Would you have done the same?

Getting high again

in Bags: 3880g
in Items: 3700g

So I started this little adventure with no more
then 4000g in my pocket, some gems
and enchanting mats to be sold.

I spent much, but also got much in return

What I achieved so far is :
- to be able to make big expenses and don't cry broken in some edge of Ironforge
>3 purple pieces for my DK ( which shamefully isn't still on L80),
including an Ulduar item
>1 Runed orb
- to have still a good amount of sell goods stockpiled ready to be sold,
- not to worry about a night of wiping
- be raid consumables ready for the next.. mounth?

Yeah, I feel so confortable to look now at my bags, winter sparing like a little ant:
-5 staks of each types of elixirs I may need in raid, depending if I would play Holy or Disci
-20 stack of 40 Haste/40 Crit / 16 Mana, with spices and food bought massively in AH when thy had the label"HUGE AMOUNTS; DISCOUNTED!!" instead of fishing/doing daily
-35 Flasks of the Frost Wyrm

The next big expense will be the the swift mount for my Dk once she turn 77, in 2 levels;
If I will go on with my "at least 2k saved in bag" politic, than I'll need to raise 6k gold more.
Omg..

Okey, new idea:
Keep the K, put them somewhere safe and out my reach, and spend the rest for profit!

Saturday 6 June 2009

Time to sell

Weekends are always the best days to sell items in AH, people who normally don't play much during the week, usually flood the server, and demand rise!

Summer vacations on the door and more pvp players getting gear, actually made me able to start again to sell cutted blue gems.
I used to buy a lot of saronite to prospect for between 12g and 15g, but either my beloved Chinese got all banned or miners are on strike and buy it for 20g/stack is out of discussion!
So, I decided to rely completely on AH for greens to DE (bought materials for 80g) and on my spared stacks of blue:
I'm now selling what gives me a 8g profit minimum.

The other things currently listed are:

Frosthide Leg Armor for 187.75g (mats cost 90g)
Icescale Leg Armor for 149.75g (mats cost 85g x2)
Infinite Dust 4.21g either single posted or in stack of 20
Heartseeker Scope 46g, those sell 1 per day or every 2 days.
Now that DKs are the new fashion toys, there are less hunter around.

While looking at some affairs, I spotted a tasty opportunity:
17x Frost Lotus, 25g Bid each!
MINE! SO my 425g are now pacefully sleeping waiting to be cashed.
Unless someone else decide to engage a bid fight ofc ^^

I decided not to drop under 2000 golds anymore, unless for repairs.
How long I will last?
Till the next purple Boe listed in ah, for sure!

Spent: 765g
Cash available: 2025g
Goodies value: Much! Oh, the lazyness.

Friday 5 June 2009

I love shopping

I'm a shopping maniac, the kind you can define impulsive/compulsive.
I'm not talking to silly mounts or companions, no thanks, it's long already I passed my 11y.
I'm talking about gear;
If it's new, it's purple,
it's OMG UPGRADE!
I must have, period.

Ulduar release brought us a lot of BOE goodies and pattern and some people object it's like cheating when you buy them at ah.
You have to earn them, or blatantly waiting them to drop for you.

I'm not the same opinion.
Quite obviously.

Skill doesn't come along with gear, but why I should miss the opportunity to improve myself?

1. You have to earn them.
That's okey, I could agree on that, specially when I see uber geared players with absolutly no clue about what they're doing, the horror, the horror.
Totally waste of (their) money, waste of people effort and time in an instance/raid, totally waste of items, others could have surely benefit more

2. Why bothering? Let them drop!
AKA ( recently saw) spellcaster awesomness in Naxx with a blue weapon..
That's the type of players which I hate most.
Not only you prove to be a totally moron, but you also proudly come with your blue gear QQ as you don't have a raidspot or giving out 1k or less dps at L80?!?
Slacking is never, NEVER, NEVEREVER an excuse!
Please, now go play Tetris and beware the holes in the line.
At least the point 1. people did an lil effort.

What I bought at the end?
A BOE tanking ring from Hodir's chest, Ulduar fresh, for my DK alt:
Signet of Winter
2700g , well worth it.

A bidded Runed Orb for 1300g,
which turned not to be the great opportunity I tought;
now they sell for the same price, down to 800g from 5 days ago ;_;
I will keep it for the awesome healing cloth feet pattern for ma priest and done!

Total spent: 4000g
Cash in bags: 2300g
Worth items cash: 3800g

and more important, I'm done with consumables for the next 2 weeks ^^

Chinese farmers and Chinese goldsellers

Do you hate chinese farmers?
I don't.

I always hope one will pop on and see a "WTS 10000x raw item" in trade channel, with their worst then mine english
and zero patience.
Come, get it ( fast! faster!!), buckz pliz, baibai.

You may argue that they're killing economy, robbing good farm spots, but that's what everyother player can do as well, get your piece of wealthness.
Oh NOES!
And you'll be 100% right.
Key point is:

How to get advantage from them?
Make them be your personal bot!
No time wasted, you know you have to reach their L1 where he is in SW, and no more "Oh sorry I've sold it few seconds ago".

1. Buy low, sell high
Farmers are always in a hurry to get as much money they can and ASAP is the best.
You have your items and a good margin of profit, they have your golds = legal transactions

2. Buy low, craft and sell
You buy and can turn an item to several more es. prospecting, alchemy = profit, totally legal one.
What I'm totally agains is the step after the selling process; the sell of gold.
If dealing a business with them earlier was just a part of the game economy process
(items from the game sold for regular ingame gold),
it's surely not buying THAT gold for real money!

Firstly cause it's against Blizzard policy, but also cause you get out the game scheme!
That's not exploiting, you're not smarter then anyone else who play "in standard".
You're simply dumb.
In my early days of playing, I was tempted, yes, like everyone else did.
And don't lie.
I even browsed the net to get more infos about the different sites services.

But one thought stopped me:
Real money should serve for yourself, your family, your cat/dog/hamster /insert-random-type-of-animal here wellness, not for a fake world of pixel.
Even if that world is somethimes the best place to evade from yours.

Monday 1 June 2009

Show me the money!

Start: 4300g in bag
Monday:5861g7143 in bag
---------------------------->>+1568,735
AAAND:
+4600g worth of Flask of the Frost Wyrm
+5120g worth of Eternal Earth
+800g worth of Illusion Dust
+10 stacks of Icethorn
-300g raid goodies ( food buff, spices, elixirs - crafted ofc!)

This week I was very busy with University, studying and my RL work, still I managed to play a bit and have a nice income ^^

@ Infinite Dust price dropped under 4g/piece, so I stop selling it; people undercutting each other overflowing AH with 300stack of 1, followed by 77x1 and again 58x1.
I was tempted to buy all their stuff, but at the end I didn't, profit wasn't high enough to justify that.

@Scopes are selling for some nice +20g of pure profit, 1 per day or every 2 days, so are the @Saronite Razorheads, +15g per stack of 1000.

@Spellpower Elixir went like candies during the week and totally stopped on weekend, got more or less all back.

@Armor Kits weren't crafted, my dear LW is on holiday for till Wed, and I had already loads of stuff running on

@Dark Jade and Shadow Crystal gor sold for a media of 1.70g/1.87g

I've capped mining, and worked on BS as well,
Next market are the Belt Buckles!

Friday 29 May 2009

Exploiting another market edge

Let's talk about: Spellpower Elixir !

I recently gave up on Flasks, unless we are trying some new boss in Ulduar, otherwise I stick with 2 elixirs: Spellpower and Mighty Tought.
This lead me closer again to the sweet part of beeing an elixir master I left behind so long: crafting goods!
I'm going to use those also for myself, so won't they sell,
I would still be happy ^^

I bought mats worth for 60 elixirs

Cost per single / stack / tot. bought

o.65s / 13g Goldclover x3 --> 39g
o.55s / 11g Tiger Lily x3 --> 33g
o.40s / 8g Imbued Vial x60 -> 24g
-----------------------------------------
1.6og / 32g Elixir x60 -> 96g

I was quite lucky to get 10 procs, so
96g/70-> 1.3714g pure cost per item

Listed for 2.87g /28.70g (stack of 10) in AH
-5% AH 2.7265 / 27.7250g

Expected profit: 1.3551g / 94.857g

I then stockpiled another 29 Frost Lotus(42.2413g) for a total of 1224.9977 g;
I will either watch the market and resell them higher or turning them to Flasks.

Thursday 28 May 2009

Crafty Fairy back to town! Flasks funn!

Yesterday browsing AH, I finally found Frost Lotus selling for under 56g!
It was already 3 weeks that I wasn't crafting any flasks due to the insane high prices, so..
I bought it all.

God bless farmers, should they be Chinese or just some headless players, I don't mind!
Yay!

44 Frost Lotus x 43g50 left me lighter of 1914g
192g825 worth of herbs
ToT. -2106g825
and voilà!
106 Flasks of the Frost Wyrm (88+18procs)
I got the vials for free so I had a pure cost of 19g876 each.
The problem now was:
How to sell them directly and in stocks?
AH was out of discussion, nor I wanted to sell them one by one.

I spammed trade a bit after raids end, but either people had already stockpiled goods for the next day or simply wasn't interested.

Then, an idea:
Who normally use flasks?
Raiding guilds.

Which is the fastest way to get all of them knowing I'm selling?
Realm forum.
Total win!

I created a new thread, placed my offer and gave the COD option.
Keep in mind that people often doesn't like their business to go public,
so I added the " contact me by ingame mail if you like" option.
Well, 100 flasks are now waiting my happy customers to log on and send me a total of 3000g.
+893,175g profit for 15minutes work.

Dream Shard - 13g / 12,35g
